What Is the Saturday Lotto?

The Saturday Lotto is one of Australia’s most popular lotteries. The first ever draw was held back in 1972. Today the lottery is popular throughout Australia and known under various names in different states and territories: Saturday Lotto, Gold Lotto, TattsLotto, or just Lotto. Who Can Bet on the Australian Saturday Lotto?

Players from Australia (excluding South Australia) can bet on the Saturday Lotto at All players at Lottoland® must be 18 years or older.

How Much Does It Cost to Bet on the Saturday Lotto?

Saturday Lotto costs $0.70 per standard game. There are no minimum games required for the Saturday Lotto. You can bet on one or more games. For System Bet pricing please see information below.

How Do I Bet on the Saturday Lotto?

  • Pick six numbers from a range of 1 to 45
  • The six numbers are then drawn, along with two supplementary numbers
  • Prizes are determined by choosing the correct regular and supplementary numbers
  • To hit the jackpot you must match all six regular numbers.

How Do I Fill in My Saturday Lotto Bet Slip at Lottoland®?

Filling in your Saturday Lotto bet slip is much the same as filling in a standard paper ticket. Each number corresponds to the numbered grid inside the bet slip area. Simply click on the numbers you wish to bet with. Alternatively you can click the Quicky +1 button to select a set of random numbers.

If you click on more than the standard six numbers you will automatically enable a system bet. This type of bet costs more but affords you a greater chance of winning by allowing you to bet with more than the standard six numbers. To bet, simply click the Submit button. Alternatively you can choose additional options if you want to set which draws you wish to bet on or bet via Subscription mode.

What Are Superdraws?

Superdraws are special event draws where the Saturday Lotto jackpot is raised to an estimated $20 million or more. Several Superdraws are held each year. As these are big lottery events we will announce them on our Superdraw page as more details are known.

What Is the Megadraw?

The Megadraw is an annual event which takes place each year towards the end of the Christmas season. Essentially it’s an even bigger Superdraw where the jackpot is raised to an estimated $30 million or more. The last Megadraw occurred on January 2nd, 2016. Once we get confirmation as to the date of the next Megadraw we will publish it on our Megadraw Magazine section.

What Is a Subscription?

Subscriptions remove the hassle of buying repeat games and the fear of missing out on that big jackpot win. Our Subscription feature allows you to set up a reoccurring bet or bets on a given lottery draw. The subscription is open ended and will run for as long as you want it to. You can win anything from a few dollars (on the lowest prize division) to an estimated $4 million or more.

What Is the Biggest Saturday Lotto Jackpot of All Time?

Currently the biggest Saturday Lotto jackpot of all time is $16.3 million. While it may not be as high as other lottery jackpots it should be noted that the overall odds of hitting such a jackpot in the Saturday Lotto are much better.

How Do I Get My Winnings?

As a Lottoland® player you will be automatically informed of results and any winnings will be credited to the balance of your Lottoland® user account automatically. You then have the option of using these winnings to bet on more games, or you can withdraw the money to your bank account.

Do I Pay Tax on Winnings?

Generally there is no tax to pay on lottery winnings in Australia but players are advised to check with the local tax authorities in the case of any win.

What Is the DoubleJackpot Feature?

The DoubleJackpot feature allows you to go for twice the official lottery jackpot. So, for instance, if the official draw is $10 million and you bet on the outcome with us and activate the DoubleJackpot feature, you will go for a jackpot of $20 million. The prizes for all other divisions will remain the same.

You will pay double the price of your normal game to activate the DoubleJackpot feature. For more information about this feature please refer to Double Jackpot Explained.

What Is the NumberShield Feature?

Don't want to share the jackpot with other winners? Our special NumberShield feature allows you to protect your numbers in the event of a jackpot win. If you activate this feature you will win the entire jackpot in division 1, even if other players chose the same numbers. Only one player can select the NumberShield feature for a specific set of numbers. If another player has already shielded a specific set of numbers no other player will be able to shield the same numbers for the respective draw.

NumberShield can be chosen for a particular game field or complete bet slip and will occur an additional cost added to the total price. NumberShield and DoubleJackpot cannot be selected on the same bet slip. NumberShield and DoubleJackpot cannot be selected on the same bet slip. What Does "Place bet when" mean?

This option allows you to only bet when the jackpot is a set amount or higher. So if you choose $7 million, you will only bet on the draw when the jackpot is at a minimum of $7 million.
