Lottoland Mitchell Street Million Dollar Mile
How You Could Win $1M in 4 Minutes

Due to legislation coming into effect in 2019, we can no longer offer lottery betting and as such some content may no longer be relevant.
What Is the Lottoland Mitchell Street Million Dollar Mile?
The Lottoland Mitchell Street Million Dollar Mile is Australia’s richest middle-distance race and is held in the Darwin CBD on Sunday, September 17 2017. Contestants run a 1 mile course which encompasses some of Darwin’s most famous streets, with the race commencing and finishing on Mitchell Street.
The race attracts runners from all over the world, and it’s expected to attract many more this year now that Lottoland is offering $1 million in the Men’s Elite and Women’s Elite races!
How to Win the $1 Million Prize?
Winning the $1 million is pretty simple really. All you have to do is run faster than everyone else in the race and cross the line in first place. Oh, there’s one other small thing. You also have to break the world mile record. Hey, it’s a million bucks. We never said it was going to be easy!
So, if the winner of the Men’s Elite race clocks a time quicker than the current world record of 3:43.13, he will pocket 1 million bucks thanks to Lottoland.
The Women’s Elite champion needs to beat a world record time of 4:12:56 to pocket their $1 million courtesy of Lottoland.
That’s a whopping $2 million up for grabs in one action-packed afternoon in Darwin!
Lottoland to Donate an Additional $25 per Entry
Even if you don’t think you quite have what it takes to break the world mile record, by just taking part in the event you can help Lottoland make a difference to people in need.
In addition to a $25,000 donation Lottoland has pledged to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Darwin-based betting company will also donate an additional $25 to the charity for each entrant in the race. If there’s 1,000 entrants, that’s an extra $25,000 Lottoland will donate.
You don’t necessarily have to compete in the Men’s Elite or Women’s Elite category in order for Lottoland to donate $25 on your behalf. Here’s some potential other race categories that you can get involved in:
- Lottoland Masters Run (for runners over 35 years old)
- Donate Life Fancy Dress (for individuals or teams that want to make a statement!)
- Lottoland Defense and Services (for all defense and services personnel including police, fire and ambulance)
There’s plenty of other categories to compete in so check out the official race website and let Lottoland donate $25 to the Royal Flying Doctor Service for you simply taking part.
In the lead-up to the big race, Lottoland has also organised for its regular spot on the jerseys of Manly NRL players to be replaced by the Royal Flying Doctor Service name when the team plays the New Zealand Warriors in Auckland in August.
All in the Name of Fun and Charity
It doesn’t matter whether you’re in it to win the $1 million, run a PB or as an excuse to dress up as Superman, the Lottoland Million Dollar Mitchell Street Mile is a fun-filled afternoon for everyone to get involved in.
So dust off those runners and start training. You never know, it might just help you become a millionaire! Sign up for the race today: Race Categories
